Stewart is a product of St. Augustine High School in New Orleans, Louisiana. He garners a five-star rating from multiple recruiting sites and is in the running to be the nation’s consensus No. 1 2026 prospect.
The Longhorns were one of the teams he listed among the 15 schools he was going to continue to consider in February. The Louisiana product told Touchdown Texas why the Longhorns have his attention at the Under Armour Future 50 Media Day.
“I feel like Texas is building something special,” Stewart said. ‘They went to the college football playoff. I see that they’re getting to that level that they wanted to get to. When Texas joined the SEC, that was big to me. It showed that they are going to play in big games, and I’m a person who wants to play in big games. I want to be a part of that big moment. Texas is great. My dogs, Melvin Hills and Barryn Sorrell, are out there, and they’re telling me great things about it.”
Miami, Auburn, Oregon, LSU, Ohio State and USC were named as the schools standing out to Stewart at the moment.
At 6-foot-6 and 280 pounds, Stewart finished his sophomore season with 20 sacks, 33 tackles for loss and 85 total tackles to go along with six forced fumbles.
