Arch Manning on playing time, relationship with Quinn Ewers

AUSTIN — The Texas Longhorns have one of the best QB rooms in the country featuring Quinn Ewers and Arch Manning. Ewers had a productive 2023 season throwing for 3,479 yards and 22 touchdowns, and Manning has shown promise accounting for 355 yards and three touchdowns in the 2024 Longhorns spring game.

On most teams, Manning would be the day-one starter, but with Ewers in front of him at Texas, he will have to wait his turn for one more season. That has not deterred Manning from continuing to put work in knowing his number could be called at any time.

While competition among quarterbacks can often create tension between teammates, Manning says he and Ewers have become good friends. He acknowledges learning a great deal from Ewers, emphasizing that their dynamic is both healthy and supportive.

Texas will be back in action when they kick off the 2024 season hosting Colorado State at DKR Memorial Stadium on August 31st. The game will be televised on ESPN at 2:30 CT.
