AUSTIN — Although the 2025 football season is less than halfway complete, head coach Steve Sarkisian and company are getting a head start on the class of 2027 recruits and hitting the recruiting trail hard, while still finalizing their 2026 class.

Although Texas currently sits with the No. 5-ranked recruiting class for 2026 with three 5-stars committed, Sarkisian is hoping that he can secure back-to-back top 5 classes by offering the best of the best and bringing them in for visits as soon as possible.

It may seem early, and it is, but that’s a necessary component for success in recruiting. So here’s an early look at every 2027 recruit that the Texas staff has already offered.

Quarterbacks

• 4-star No. 2 Kavian Bryant (TX)
• 4-star No. 4 Brady Edmunds (CA)
• 4-star No. 8 Peyton Houston (LA)

As these quarterbacks have begun their senior season, Bryant seems to not just be the best of the three but potentially the best in the country. He’s the only uncommitted quarterback of the trio, but he seems like a Texas Tech lean early.

Edmunds is committed to Ohio State, while Houston is committed to LSU. Houston is from Louisiana, so his commitment makes sense. Edmunds is from California, so if the location says anything, it’s not saying that he wants to stay home.

Texas will continue to recruit the pair of commits, hoping for a flip, but Edmunds would likely be the most probable option. However, Sarkisian will likely target Bryant, the only in-state target, the heaviest and attempt to sway him away from the Red Raiders.

Running backs

• 4-star No. 2 Landen Williams-Callis (TX)
• 4-star No. 3 David Gabriel Georges (Quebec, Canada)
• 4-star No. 4 Tyson Robinson (MS)
• 4-star No. 5 Noah Roberts (AZ)
• 4-star No. 6 Jakoby Dixon (TX)
• 4-star No. 7 Tranard Roberts (FL)
• 4-star No. 8 Caden Wayne (GA)
• 4-star No. 13 Braden Tyson (GA)
• 4-star No. 20 Amir Brown (NC)
• 4-star No. 21 Lathan Whisenton (TX)

Texas has a history of success with running backs, and three of its 2027 targets are in-state, which could provide the Longhorns with a heavy advantage in their recruitments.

Williams-Callis is not only an in-state prospect and one of the best in the country, but he’s also an early Texas lean. Oklahoma and Alabama are also taking their swing at him, though.

The good thing for Texas is that only one of these recruits is currently committed, so Sarkisian and the Longhorns are in a very good position and should likely land at least one or two guys on this list.
