Recruits speaking highly of Texas DL coach Kenny Baker

The University of Texas has had some successful recruiting visits this season.
Touchdown Texas was able to catch up with some prospects on how they enjoyed their visits.
Kenny Baker is on a recruiting roll in his first year as Texas’ defensive line coach. Multiple recruits have expressed how easy it has been to connect with Coach Baker and how they are impressed with his job as the defensive line coach.
Three-star edge rusher and Texas target, Ben Duncum is one of those prospects.
“Coach Baker is creating a powerful front with many NFL prospects,” Duncum said. “They have a bright future with many new top recruits committing, and UT would be one of my top picks for sure.”
Duncum has great measurables for an edge rusher. He stands at six-foot-six and weighs in at 255 pounds. He ragdolls offensive lineman trying to block him and his arms are filled with power. He is a very intriguing prospect that has a very high ceiling.
Duncum is not the only prospect who can see the culture that Coach Baker is setting. Christopher Knauls Jr. is a defensive lineman from Frisco, Texas who recently took a visit to Austin,
“The highlight of my visit was connecting with coach Baker,” Knauls said. “The program is very special and has a rich tradition. Coach Baker is an awesome coach that I know I can learn a lot from. Coach Baker has the defensive line playing hard and aggressive, and I love that.”
Knauls Jr. is a space-eating defensive lineman who makes it hard to get past him. He has a stellar bull rush move that pummels blockers into the backfield. He is also sneakily athletic in the trenches. Knauls Jr. can hawk down running backs behind the line of scrimmage and slip past blockers easily. He is currently unranked, but I believe Knauls is a hidden gem.
It seems as if Texas is hot on the recruiting trail again, with no signs of slowing down. With Texas Football being the hot product of the SEC, I believe these visits will be very beneficial for the Longhorns.
