Texas Trending Towards Landing 2027 Offensive Lineman

By Published On: September 24, 2025

AUSTIN — The Texas Longhorns hosted some top prospects over the weekend, and the results are beginning to show.

While the current Longhorns were taking on the Sam Houston State Bearkats, Texas was also hosting many recruits behind the scenes, including the No. 1 quarterback in the class of 2027, as well as offensive lineman Bryan Swanson.

Swanson, the 6-foot-5 315 315-pound lineman from Dallas, took his third unofficial visit to Austin on Saturday and liked what he saw. However, the big 4-star lineman has been gaining attention from many others, including Oklahoma.

He has taken four total visits to Oklahoma so far, so this could end up being a Red River recruiting battle. But the hopes are that Texas will be able to edge out the Longhorns, and it seems they did a good job with that over the weekend.

“Man, this team looks good and healthy right now, really firing on all cylinders,” Swanson told On3. “Great atmosphere, glad I got to witness it.”

It was a great atmosphere, as it was the Longhorns’ first true night game of the season, so fans and recruits were able to witness a great light and drone show during the game. It was an atmosphere that many aren’t able to compete with.

As it stands, Michigan, Alabama, Penn State, Ole Miss, SMU, and Oklahoma are also currently involved in his recruitment. But he’s only taken visits to Oklahoma, SMU, and Texas so far, so it will be interesting to see how it all plays out.

He does not currently have a date set for his recruitment, but On3 has recently logged a new prediction with 60% confidence for him to commit to head coach Steve Sarkisian and the Longhorns.
