By Published On: October 5, 2025

AUSTIN — Texas entered the weekend ranked No. 9 before falling victim to Florida in The Swamp on Saturday, 29-21, and after the underwhelming performance on both ends, the Associated Press has dropped the Longhorns completely out of the Top 25.

The most shocking loss came as Penn State, which entered its matchup against UCLA ranked No. 7, was unable to recover from being down 27-7 at halftime, which resulted in the Nittany Lions falling unranked alongside Texas.

Vanderbilt and Florida State both suffered defeats at the hands of top 10 teams in Alabama and Miami, respectively.
