Texas Pushes Its Way Back Into AP Poll After Win Over No. 6 Oklahoma

AUSTIN — After a 23-6 win over Oklahoma on Saturday, the Longhorns (4-2) have managed to work their way back into the Top 25. Texas originally started the season ranked No. 1, but fell out completely after its second loss of the season to Florida.
It was a slow game in the first half, but the Longhorns managed a second-half comeback as they managed to shut the Sooners out and scored 20 points to secure their first win away from home this season. The win has propelled Texas into the No. 21 spot.
As a result of Oklahoma’s loss to an unranked Texas, the Sooners dropped eight spots to No. 14. But it wasn’t just a bad day for Oklahoma; it was a chaotic day of college football on Saturday, as many top teams fell victim to upsets.
The upset that No. 7 Indiana managed to pull off over No. 3 Oregon resulted in the Hoosiers taking the Ducks’ spot, while Oregon saw a five-place drop and will enter Week 8 ranked No. 8.
Illinois, which was ranked in the top 10 just weeks ago, found itself unranked this week after a 34-16 loss to Ohio State. Other teams to drop include Ole Miss, Missouri and Michigan.
