The University of Texas 2025 football recruiting class has some notable names, yet it also has some underdogs looking to earn their stripes this year.

Check out this group of Longhorn commits who would benefit from a stellar senior season:

Smith Orogbo

Standing at six-foot-four and 220 pounds, Orogbo is a lanky edge rusher who has a knack for disrupting the backfield. Strength is a key piece to his rushing game, but this season will grant an opportunity to become more versatile. If Orogbo hones some pass rush techniques this season, he will be a dangerous contributor for the Longhorns early and often. Playing in a highly competitive district in Houston will be a test for the Alief-Hastings edge rusher.

Jackson Christian 

Christian is one of the most underrated lineman in the class of 2025. He has a very sturdy base and is able to block with both power and finesse. Christian has a massive frame but is also very agile for an interior offensive lineman. Playing at Port Neches Groves under Jeff Joseph, look for Christian to lead the Indians to back-to-back state championships.

Ricky Stewart

Stewart is an electrifying running back out of Tyler, Texas. He displays tremendous speed and agility from the backfield, as well as great hands for pass catching. Stewart is very adept at finding his hole and running downhill for a big play. Stewart is a workhorse of a player, totaling 6,098 rushing yards on 630 attempts in the past three years. There is unfinished business on the table for Stewart as The Bulldogs lost in the State Championship game last year and are looking to finish the journey.

Caleb Chester

A defensive back who uses his length well, Chester is poised for a stellar senior season. The three-star athlete attends Fort Bend Marshall and is set to be the star secondary member there. Chester has immense leadership qualities that make him a field general. He is able to stick with his man like glue and rarely lets up a reception. Chester will have some competition this season as he is set to line up across from multiple D1 commits throughout the year.
